Terms & Conditions
SIPF 2010 exhibition is open for submission from 1 October 2009 to 31 March 2010. Works by 50 photographers will be selected by the curators from the entries. Short-listed entries will be exhibited across Singapore between 10th October and 15th Nov 2010. The selected participants will be notified via email in May 2010, and would be announced in June 2010 on the festival website.
Upon notification from SIPF, selected participants are required to send in high resolution files to Singapore for print. SIPF 2010 is proud to have AVS Pte Ltd as the fine art print sponsor for exhibition.
- Entrants: Entry is open to anyone who satisfies the following conditions.
- Equipment: Entries shot on either film or digital cameras are eligible. However, all images submitted must be in digital file format.
- Closing Date and Entry Submission: Entries will be accepted from Singapore Time 0:00hr (UTC/GMT +8 hours), 1 Oct 2009 to Singapore Time 24:00hr (UTC/GMT +8 hours), 31 March 2010. All entries must be submitted on-line at the following web address: www.sipf.com.sg
- Submission Fee: The entry fee for each body of work is USD $30, and a special rate of USD $20 for Southeast Asian. The entry fee should be paid when submitting the entry using Paypal provided at the submission address. There is no additional fees payable if your works are selected by the festival. Transaction will be made to Osmosis Interactive Pte Ltd, the official festival online agency via Paypal services. No refund upon submission.
- Body of Work: Each body of work should contain at least 7 images and maximum of 17 images. Each photographer could submit up to 2 bodies of works for consideration.
- Submission Categories
- There are 2 categories which entrants may choose to submit.
- First category: OPEN category has no theme. In last festival, this open category has unearthed fresh new works and introduced new artists to the community.
- In 2010, a theme category is introduced to address issues in life. The theme Human:Nature could be interpreted as "Human Nature" or "Human & Nature"; as two separate entities. The 'colon' sign represents relationship between Human and Nature, and also suggest a balanced of ratio between 2 entities.
- Entrants may submit for either or both categories.
- All images must not contain obscene, provocative or inappropriate content.
The festival office reserves the right to reject any images for any reasons.
- Photographers' Copyrights: Entrants represent and warrant that they are the authors and owners of the copyright of all images submitted and that their entries do not infringe the privacy rights, copyrights or any other rights of any person.
- Reproduction Rights of Organisers and Sponsors: The organisers and sponsors reserve the right to free reproduction and exhibition of the submitted images in all media, printed and on-line, but only in connection with SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL and its promotion. The copyright will, at all times, be retained by the photographer and, where an image or images are reproduced by the organiser or sponsors, the photographer will be credited. Where image reproduction is unrelated to the Festival and its promotion, then a fee should be agreed with the photographer in advance.
- On-line Submission and Notification: Entrants must submit image files in RGB jpeg format from 1 October 2009 to 31 March 2010. The longest side of each image must not exceed 1280 pixels. Each file should not exceed 4 Mb in file size. Shortlisted entries will be selected by a panel of judges. All short-listed entrants will be notified by email in May 2010. Short-listed entrants will have up to thirty (30) days to submit a high-resolution file of the selected images in TIFF format for the exhibition. The organisers will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections which may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant's ability to participate in the competition.
- The Rules: By submitting, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all the submission Rules. Any breach of these Rules by an entrant will void their entries. The festival reserves the right to amend any of these Rules without prior notice. Any amendments will be published on the website and it is the entrants' responsibility to review the website for any amendments.
